Celebration of World Wetlands Day 2020


image World Wetlands Day celebrated on 02nd February 2020. We had a wonderful event at Chawand Lake in Mandali Watershed. The event was Started with Bird watching followed by a knowledge sharing session on the importance of wetlands for biodiversity preservation and tourism attraction taken by Gayatri Seva Sansthan’s CEO, Mr. Chetan Pandey.
We identified more than 25 species of exotic migratory birds, guided by Environmentalists Mr. Devendra Mistry and Dr. Sunil Dubey. The event also witnessed contribution from Mr. S. L. Saini, ACF Forest department; Ms. Rebecca Tuck, Researcher (UK); Mr. Sourabh Soni, Project Engineer (GSS); Mr. Vidhan Dwidedi, Wildlife photographer; Local Community; and MBA Interns from NMIMS Mumbai – Miss. Dhruvi Jamda, Mr. Mohit Mehta, and Mr. Yogesh Sharma. Due to regular efforts of GSS, Mandali Watershed has now started to get identified as bird watching sight and a tourism spot.

Workshop on Goatry Development with Pashusakhi


image A workshop on goatry development with pashusakhi was organized at Rural Training Center of Gayatri Seva Sansthan at village Thana, Udaipur on 20th march 2017. 21 members including villagers and GSS officials participated in the workshop.
Pashusakhis (Lady Livestock Assistant) has played a vital role in livestock development in Watershed Projects under IGWDP. Pashusakhis are the key people to run activities like Goatry Development among the community. In this reference, the workshop was planned with objective to provide training for seasonal diseases, vaccination and to discuss the role and responsibilities of Pashusakhis in the coming years. The participants were advised to provide regular vaccination to their goats, regularly de-warming the cattle and provision of proper nutrition and habitat for them. Some other points covered under the workshop were importance of castration, goat farming at commercial scale, development of goat nursery and lastly fodder.

“Expediting Process of establishing Producer Company under IGWDP”


image A workshop on “Expediting Process of establishing Producer Company under IGDWP” was organized at Tapovan Ashram, Udaipur on Thursday, 8th December 2016. It was organized by Gayatri Seva Sansthan, Udaipur with the support of IGWDP, NABARD. 35 participants from PFAs, VWCs and PMUs participated in this workshop.
The event was commenced with the special session of Amrit Krishi taken by Mr. Pratik (Technical Expert of Amrit Krishi). Mr. Chetan Pandey of GSS also provided his inputs and simplified the objective and action plan of workshop in these two days. The 2nd session seen the presence of Mr. Pankaj Jain who explained the detailed procedure for the formation of Producer Company followed by other influential personalities.
The program was concluded with a valedictory session which further continued with a vote of thanks to participants. An open poll was also conducted to know the aftermath of unprecedented move of demonetization in the nation.

Experience Sharing Workshop of VWCs


image Two days Experience Sharing Workshop of VWCs was conducted at Gayatri Seva Sansthan, Udaipur under IGWDP on 27-28 February 2017. Members of 14 VWCs participated in this workshop. The workshop was started with brief introduction of participants and showcasing a documentary of Model Village, Hiwre Bazar (Maharashtra). After that all participants shared their experience and impact of project in their watershed area in term of Agriculture Production, Livelihood, Water table etc.
image Some of the participants also gave their feedback about there being a possibility of convergence with NREGA as after some time the trenches will be filled with soil and there will be a need to repair the structures also followed by many other comments by participants. The session was sum up with a documentary on climate change and a lecture on social security scheme by Praveen Paneri (GSS).
